How to Tell If a Louis Vuitton Pallas MM Is Real or Fake (Comparison)

How to Tell If a Louis Vuitton Pallas MM Is Real or Fake (Comparison)

Unicorn bag

I have to confess – I LVOE the Pallas Louis Vuitton bag. It’s elegant, beautiful and…newly released. Not also that means that you cannot find it for 200-700$, it also means that the fakes of this bag are also very new and much better than for the previous models. New fakes appear every day and they are getting better and better. You can't just glance at inaccurate sewing and click 'Х Close' on the browser tab. And remember that sellers are different and not everyone takes photos of each and every detail of the bag.
So you see some photos of your dream bag and think to yourself: is this actually a luxury LV or a cheap fake?

Now here the comparison of a real Louis Vuitton Pallas MM and a fake Louis Vuitton Pallas MM.

Check yourself. Which of these two is real and which is fake? Can you tell me?

Well, from these photos I could not. Let's dig down deeper.

Heat Stamps

Let's take a look at the first heat stamp on the left. It seems pretty normal, right? The font is very similar to LV font and it seems like there's nothing wrong with it, until you compare it to a REAL Louis Vuitton Pallas.
Note 3 things:
1) The authentic Louis Vuitton Pallas MM bag has a thinner font. Fake LV Pallas does not have sharp edges of V and N letters (watch the lower part). Can you see it?
2) There is an extra stripe on the authentic Louis Vuitton Pallas MM right above the sewing. The fake bag does not have it.
3) The trademark R sign is larger (almost the size of an O) on the fake model.

Here's the next made in heat stamp. Now even you're not a professional, it's getting pretty obvious that the left bag is fake. Again, the fake font is much thicker than the original and it has an ugly color screaming fake. Note that overall the font is copied well and the inclined stitches are also copied well on modern replica bags. Beware.

Louis Vuitton Pallas MM Date Code

According to the date code the left bag was made in France (which by the way coincides with a "made in" heat stamp), on the 18th week of 2016. Everything's right except the font. Look at the right screen.

That's why they say that if a date code is real - week count, year and the country of origin do seem realistic, it does not mean that the bag is authentic. Always check other details of the bag before engaging in a risky deal.

Hardware Brass

It's getting much simpler to tell a fake if you have a close-up pic of every piece of hardware. On expensive fakes, you'll be hardly able to tell if the hardware belongs to a replica but poor fakes usually do a poor job in copying the Louis Vuitton brass quality. The pictures are not very large, but you still can see that the authentic one has a thin nice font, and the fake one divides it in two. Note the difference in the zipper slider upper part. It is plain on the authentic bag and humped shaped on the fake one. On the next pics, it's quite obvious which bag is real and which is fake, right?

I bought a LV through Tradesty. They had a sell on preowned, so i bought one. Now i have bought 2 others and they are just perfect. This purse was on sale and when i got it, it is disgusting. I wouldn’t have paid 100$ for it. I would like have it some how reconditioned because i bought from and individual. It was authenticated through Tradesty too.
